El gobierno bíblico es más que un "conjunto de valores judeocristiano." Jesucristo es el Rey de reyes. La Palabra de Dios reconoce a él solamente como el Padre lo nombró Gobernante:
Porque un niño nos es nacido, hijo nos es dado, y el principado sobre su hombro .... Lo dilatado de su imperio y la paz no tendrán límite, sobre el trono de David y sobre su reino, disponiéndolo y confirmándolo en juicio y en justicia desde ahora y para siempre. El celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto (Isaías 9:6-7).
Sin embargo, la Biblia reconoce varios otros gobiernos humanos legítimos que Dios ha establecido. Estos también están bajo el dominio de Cristo, el Dios-hombre, el único que es Dios sobre todos (Romanos 9:5b). Estos gobiernos están bajo su soberanía y separados unos de otros. Cada uno tiene autoridad moral ordenada por Dios dentro de su esfera limitada de jurisdicción. Estos son los tres principales gobiernos que Dios ha establecido:
La Familia, que se ocupa de la santa institución del matrimonio y la procreación, la crianza y la educación de los niños. Dios ha designado al marido / padre como cabeza del hogar (Efesios 5:23, 6:4), y ha dado a los padres la autoridad de la correa.
La Iglesia, que tiene que ver con la edificación espiritual de la Esposa de Cristo y la excomunión de los miembros persistentemente desobedientes. Dios ha designado a los ancianos como los gobernantes de la Iglesia (Hechos 14:23). Él les ha dado la autoridad de los sacramentos.

Separation of Governments
Some people cry for more government. Others demand less government. A few even want no government at all. But God's people should pray and work for biblical government.
Biblical government is more than a "Judeo-Christian set of values." Jesus Christ is the King of kings. The Word of God acknowledges Him alone as the Father's appointed Ruler:
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder....Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6-7).
Nevertheless, the Bible does recognize several other legitimate human governments that God has established. These also are under the rulership of Christ, the God-man, who alone is God over all (Romans 9:5b). These governments are under His sovereignty and separate from one another. Each one has God-ordained moral authority within its limited sphere of jurisdiction. these are the three primary governments that God has established:
The Family, which is concerned with the holy institution of marriage and the procreation, nurture, and education of children. God has designated the husband/father as the head of the home (Ephesians 5:23, 6:4), and has given parents the authority of the strap.
The Church, which is concerned with the spiritual edification of the Bride of Christ and the excommunication of persistently disobedient members. God has appointed elders as the rulers of the Church (Acts 14:23). He has given them the authority of the sacraments.
The State,which is concerned with the safety of its citizens and the punishment and/or execution of evil doers (Romans 13:1-4). He has given the State the authority of the sword.
Historically, human civilizations have brought tremendous suffering and judgments upon themselves (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) because they have blurred the distinctions between these separate governments, have failed to submit to the biblical requirements for these governments, and have over-extended the authority of one or more of these governments.
