Vas a expresar tus sentimientos. "Me gusta mucho pasar tiempo contigo."

How an Affair Really Begins

At some point, we have all witnessed the devastation of an affair. On the one hand, it is shocking just how much can be destroyed by the act of one person sharing sexual intimacy with another. But on the other hand, it is not shocking at all when we consider how much meaning God has packed into marriage and into the sexual relationship within marriage.
One of the great misconceptions about affairs is that they begin with sex. Affairs do not begin with sex. Falling into bed with a man who is not your husband or a woman who is not your wife is never a sudden, unplanned event. Instead, it is a culminating decision in a long list of terrible, self-centered decisions.
Some time ago Denny Burk and I spoke at a conference, and Denny told us about the 6 “e’s” that Tommy Nelson uses to describe the “ease” with which people fall into extra-marital affairs. I have shared them before but thought it might be helpful to share them again. I believe any married man or woman can benefit by occasionally considering them. Consider it one more means to fulfill 1 Timothy 4:16: “Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching.” (I will write from a male perspective, but it works equally well if you reverse the pronouns.)

1) Eliminate

Affairs do not begin when you experience sexual intimacy with someone who is not your spouse. An affair begins much farther back, when you begin to eliminate intimacy in your marriage. This is not only the intimacy of sex, but the intimacy that comes by dating, by long face-to-face conversations, and by physical affection. Instead of pursuing your wife, you grow hard and complacent. The joy fades, the discontentment rises.

2) Encounter

As you eliminate the intimacy in your own marriage you will inevitably encounter someone else who is attractive to you. She may be physically attractive, she may be attractive in character, she may be attractive in seeming to provide what your wife is lacking. Regardless of the specifics, there will be something about her that will draw you and promise to offer the very things you are missing in your own marriage.

3) Enjoy

After that encounter, you will find that you soon begin to enjoy your relationship with that other woman. Your enjoyment of this woman allows her to move into the emotional space formerly reserved for your wife. It is here that the wise man will immediately identify the danger and back away. Yet the enjoyment is pleasurable, of course, and too many men neglect to take the wise and godly course of action.

4) Expedite

If you do not take action against the enjoyment, you will soon begin to expedite opportunities to be with her. You will linger where you know she is likely to be. You will hurry to get to the place where your paths may cross. You will time your lunch break to coincide with hers. You will generate opportunities to talk through the phone or through Facebook or through text messaging or face-to-face.

5) Express

Inevitably, this growing relationship will lead to a kind of intimacy so strong and so exhilarating that you will have to find out if she feels the same way. You will express your feelings. You won’t come right out with the full expression of your feelings—you are too clever and too subtle for that. Instead, you will test the waters a little bit. “I really enjoy spending time with you.” And she will reply, “I enjoy spending time with you as well.” “I wish I could talk to my wife the way I talk to you.” And she will say, “I wish I could talk to my husband the way I talk to you.” And then you will advance to, “I wish my wife was more like you” and she will reply, “I wish my husband was more like you.” And at this point you’re caught. You’re in. Tommy Nelson says, “You’ve built a bridge to Fantasy Island,” and it’s now all but certain that you will walk across it. The emotional bond is already there and it is now only natural to give that emotional bond a physical expression. That leads to the final “e.”

6) Experience

All that remains is to experience the physical consummation of that enjoyment, that expression, and that emotional bond. And then you are in bed together as adulterers, entwined in a full-fledged affair.
Through it all, John Owen’s insight remains so crucial: Sin always aims at the uttermost; the smallest sin is but one step to the biggest and most treacherous sin. That decision to neglect the pursuit of your wife, that surrendering of marital intimacy, these were only the first small, sinful steps to the destruction of your marriage. I will give the last word to John Owen who reflects on Hebrews 3:12-13: “Take heed, says he, use all means, consider your temptations, watch diligently; there is a treachery, a deceit in sin, that tends to the hardening of your hearts from the fear of God. The hardening here mentioned is to the utmost—utter obduration; sin tends to it, and every distemper and lust will make at least some progress toward it.”

EL CARÁCTER DE LA MUJER VIRTUOSA - II Parte

 C. (Prov.

THE CHARACTER OF THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN - Part II

C. (Prov. 31:13) SHE LOOKS FOR WOOL AND FLAX, AND WORKS WITH HER HANDS IN DELIGHT

She does her daily chores cheerfully and not grudgingly or bitterly, as many women do today. Why is it that many modern women do not enjoy being a housewives or homemakers, seeing these positions as degrading to women? It is because they do not enjoy doing daily chores. Instead they complain about their oppressed condition as women in a man's world. "Yet doing chores is part of what being alive in God's world is all about [for women and for men]."- Jay Adams, Christian Living in the Home, p.78. Each sex and each person has his or her divinely-assigned calling, which includes a variety of responsibilities and chores.
What really counts is whether or not you can learn to delight in your work, whatever your task is. "The Biblical picture of the liberated woman describes her as one who has learned to do her job in delight."- Jay Adams, p. 79.
She sees her housework as a "Hallelujahing of Jehovah," as part of her God-given calling for life.
And notice the last part of the verse. Pleasure, love for her work and delight in it are attributed to hands. Her hands are active after the pleasure of her heart because she knows she is busy in the service of her Savior and her husband and family. In fulfilling all the responsibilities, privileges and chores that go with homemaking, the virtuous woman is doing what her heart loves to do. Do you serve your husband and family like this?

D. ( Prov. 31:14) SHE IS LIKE MERCHANT SHIPS; SHE BRINGS HER FOOD FROM AFAR

She searches far and wide for the best bargains and the finest quality for her family. In this sense she is like a merchant ship. Because she schedules her time and budgets her money in the care of her family, she makes every effort to purchase for her family the best she can afford. She is always on the alert for sales, bargains, and garage sales.

E. (Prov. 31:15) SHE RISES ALSO WHILE IT IS STILL NIGHT, AND GIVES FOOD TO HER HOUSEHOLD, AND PORTIONS TO HER MAIDENS

In order to accomplish all she does, she cannot waste time; so she lives by a reasonable schedule, often arising early and staying up late. All that she does in providing for her household takes time, and so she often must arise before dawn to serve her family and servants breakfast, so they will be ready to go about their work cheerfully as soon as day breaks. She is willing to arise before dawn because she places the well-being of her household above her own comfort, and because her care for her family brings her deep satisfaction and joy.
Some are quick to point out that this woman did all she did because she had maidens, i.e., hired house keepers, to help her. Some wives may say, "If I had a housekeeper to help me, I could do other things she does." Let me respond to this common attitude by saying four things, two for husbands and two for wives. (1). Husbands, save and budget your money so as to hire some reliable Christian woman regularly or full-time, to help your wife with housekeeping, if at all possible. (2). Wives, train your children to love to help you with housework. (3). husbands, help your wife with the house-work on occasion. Pick up and clean after yourself. (4) Wives, thank God that you have a few metaphorical "maidens" to assist you, which your ancestors never thought about: refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers, dishwashers, garbage disposals, vacuum cleaners, trash compactors. But even with all these appliances, it  still would be a great help, if you husbands could provide for your wives some hired help.
In arising before the servants to feed them, we see self-denial in action in this virtuous woman. She "goes before her servants in diligence, no less than in dignity; imposing nothing upon them, which she had not first bound upon herself, ruling her household most efficiently by the government of herself."- Bridges, p. 623.

Tithing

A common objection to tithing is that the New Testament supposedly sets a new and voluntary standard, whereby men give as they are able. The supposed authority for this is II Corinthians 8:12, and 9:7.  But the statement in its original form is in Deuteronomy 16:17: " Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given unto thee." The law here does not negate tithing: it has reference to the due proportion of our prosperity as something which is due to the Lord who gives it. Tithes and gifts are basic to both Testaments.

Perfumes (English)

Perfumes

...Many people struggle with this area of liberty because Scripture draws attention to the fact that harlots (Ezek. 23:40; Prov. 7:17) and the wicked woman Jezebel (2Kings 9:30) wore cosmetics and perfumes. But the fact that evil women used artificial beauty to ungodly ends does not discredit artificial beauty any more than Satan´s idolatrous use of natural beauty discredits natural beauty (Ezek. 28:17).

God Ordained Purposes

Before the Fall, God created Bdellium, an aromatic resin used in perfumes and cosmetics, and declared good (Gen. 2:12). God acknowledges the legitimacy of "the art of the perfumer" (Ex. 30:25,35) when He commands that the holy oil (Ex. 30:25) and the incense (Ex. 30:35) be made according to the recipes already in use by perfumers(Ex. 30:22-38). by this time there were a multitude of scents, ointments and beauty aids that the "apothecaries" had mastered and the only restriction that God made upon then was that these two recipes be kept exclusively for the priests (Ex. 30:32-33, 37-38).
The process of making perfume is mentioned by God before the time of Moses (Job 41:31), and was in use during the times of Moses (Ex. 30), Saul (1Sam. 8:13), Solomon (Prov. 27:9; Ecc.10:1; Song of Solomon), Asa (2 Chron. 16:14), Nehemiah (Neh. 3:8) and Christ (Mark 14:3; John 12:2). The romantic elements of perfumes and cosmetics are highlighted in a very positive way in Proverbs 27:9, Psalm 45 and in Song of Solomon, and the same attractive power of these elements is warned about when used by the seductress in Prov. 7:17, Isa. 57:9, Ezekiel 23:40 and 2Kings 9:30.
But the very fact that a warning needs to be given concerning their use just highlights the acknowledgment that cosmetics and perfume are desirable (not as some allege, a way of hiding natural beauty). Proverbs 27:9 says, "Ointment and perfume delight the heart." Song of Solomon 4:9-11 speaks of the power not only of natural beauty, but also artificial means of delighting the eyes and the nostrils: "You have ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; you have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes, with one link of your necklace. How fair is your love, my sister, my spouse! How much better than wine is your love, and the scent of your perfumes than all spices!Your lips, o my spouse, drip as the honeycomb; honey and milk are under your tongue; and the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon." Even breath freshener (they usually used cloves, cinnamon or some other spice for that purpose) are mentioned as something to appreciate (maybe especially!- Song 5:16; 7:9).
Some people have interpreted Esther 2:15 as meaning that Esther did not use make-up and only relied on her natural beauty. But the text suggests otherwise. It says, "She requested nothing other than what Hegai the King's eunuch advised." The implication is that he did advise her to wear some make-up and he was certainly sold on cosmetic skin care ("beauty preparations") in verse 9 and 12. The contrast between verses 13 and 15 is that the other women had their ideas of what looked good, and Esther trusted the chief eunuch's opinion.
...Likewise Psalm 45 likens the glories of Christ to the best of ornaments, perfumes and cosmetics (cf. vs. 7-14). Again unless Scripture valued these items, such an analogy would be useless. Song of Solomon glories not only in the natural beauty of God's creation, but also in the man-made aesthetic value of ornaments, clothing, perfumes, powders and cosmetics (read for example 1:3,10-14;3:6,11; 4:6,9-16;5:5; 7:1,5). Song of Solomon does not exhaust the names of all these items for it speaks of "all  the powders of the merchant" (3:6) yet does not give names for all of them.

Maternidad Espiritual

1. Ora al respecto.Pide a Dios que te muestre ¿a quién?, ¿qué? y ¿cómo?.

(1 Juan 1:9)
