CONFIAR EN DIOS (English)

   "Uno de los hechos asombrosos acerca de la mayoría de los miembros de la iglesia es su ateísmo implícito. Ellos creen que todas las cosas en este mundo son más fuertes que Dios, y que la palabra de Dios es la menos de fiar. Por ejemplo, Dios dice, en Isaías 41:10, 'No temas, porque yo estoy contigo; no desmayes, porque yo soy tu Dios que te esfuerzo; siempre te ayudaré, siempre te sustentaré con la diestra de mi justicia.' Se nos dice claramente que Dios es nuestro defensor, y que Él nunca nos dejará ni nos abandona (Heb. 12:5-6). Dios no nos promete una vida fácil, pero Él nos asegura de una vida justificada y victoriosa. Él nos apoya con Su 'justicia.' La palabra en hebreo es tsedeq: ésta significa justicia, y tiene una connotación legal, pero la mayoría de las traducciones nos dan una lectura diluida.
   Confiamos en tantas idioteces, incluyéndonos a nosotros mismos. ¿Por qué no tomar a Dios por Su palabra y confiar en Él? Si no creemos que Dios es fiel a Su palabra, ¿cómo podemos creer que Dios será fiel a nosotros que desconfiamos de Él? Uno de los pecados más grandes de la Iglesia es su negativa de confiar en el Señor. ¿Cómo puede Dios honrar a tal pueblo?"

TRUSTING GOD

   "One of the amazing facts about most church members is their implicit atheism. They believe that all things in this world are stronger than God, and that God´s word is least to be trusted. For example, God says, in Isaiah 41:10, 'Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed: for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.' We are plainly told that God is our defender, and that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 12:5-6). God does not promise us an easy life, but He does assure us of a justified and victorious life. He upholds us with His 'righteousness'  The word in Hebrew is tsedeq: it means justice, and it has a legal connotation, but most translations give us a watered down reading.
   We trust so many idiocies, including ourselves. Why not take God at His word and trust Him? If we do not believe that God is true to His word, how can we believe that God will be true to us who distrust Him? One of the church´s greatest sins is its refusal to trust in the Lord. How can God honor such a people?"
