Cristo - El Desarrollo de una Vida Fortalecida por Dios

  Lo más importante que podemos hacer con nuestras hijas es que estén seguras en su relación con Dios. Somos exitosos si podemos mostrar a nuestras hijas cómo derivar la fuerza, la sabiduría, el gozo y las gracias que necesitan de la fuente, Jesucristo. Piensa en cómo Jesús se desarrolló en su liderazgo (ver Lucas 2:52). Sus padres estaban involucrados (v. 51), pero fue el Padre celestial quien era la fuente de todo el liderazgo de Cristo. Todo lo que Jesús hizo en Su liderazgo fluyó de Su relación con el Padre. Él estaba completamente e interiormente sometido a la voluntad del Padre. Él dijo: "Porque he descendido del cielo, no para hacer mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió" (Juan 6:38). No tenemos autoridad cuando no estamos sometidos a la autoridad de Dios. Toda autoridad fluye de Dios. No podemos dar la vida si no estamos experimentando la vida de Dios. No tenemos el poder y el gozo si no estamos experimentando el poder y el gozo de Dios. Jesús dijo en Juan 5:19: "De cierto, de cierto os digo: No puede el Hijo hacer nada por sí mismo, sino lo que ve hacer al Padre; porque todo lo que el Padre hace, también lo hace el Hijo igualmente" El Padre era la fuente de todas las palabras y las obras y la sabiduría y el poder de Cristo. En Juan 5:30 Jesús dijo: "no puedo yo hacer nada por mí mismo;" Si eso era cierto de Jesús, ¿cuánto más debe ser cierto de cada uno de nosotros? En Juan 15:5 Jesús dijo: "Separados de mí nada podéis hacer." Pero el mismo versículo dice que si permanecemos en Cristo llevaremos mucho fruto. Pablo dijo: "Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece" (Flp. 4:13). Nuestra madurez está fuertemente impactada por la fuerza de nuestra comunión con el Dios Trino. Si queremos que nuestras hijas tengan el aroma de Cristo, entonces tenemos que asegurarnos de que les enseñemos a entrar en unión con Cristo y cómo permanecer en unión y comunión con Cristo.

Christ _ Developing a God-Empowered Life

The most important thing we can do with our daughters is to make them secure in their relationship with God. We are successful if we can show our daughters how to derive the strength, wisdom, joy and graces they need from the fountainhead, Jesus Christ. Think of how Jesus developed in his leadership (see Luke 2:52). His parents were involved (v. 51), but it was the heavenly Father that was the source of all Christ's leadership. Everything Jesus did in His leadership flowed out of His relationship with the Father. He was fully and inwardly submitted to the Father's will. He said, "For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me." (John 6:38). We have no authority when we are not submitted to God's authority. All authority flows from God. We cannot give life if we are not experiencing life from God. We do not have power and joy if we are not experiencing God's power and joy. Jesus said in John 5:19, "Most assuredly I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner." The Father was the source of all Christ's words and works and wisdom and power. In John 5:30 Jesus said, "by myself I can do nothing." If that was true of Jesus, how much more so should it be true of each of us? In John 15:5 Jesus said, "Without Me you can do nothing." But the same verse says that if we abide in Christ we will bear much fruit. Paul said, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13). Our maturity is powerfully impacted by the strength of our fellowship with the Triune God. If we want our daughters to have the savor of Christ, then we need to make sure that we teach them how to enter into union with Christ and how to abide in union and fellowship with Christ.

Entrégate al Señor

"Quitad, pues, ahora los dioses ajenos que están entre vosotros, e inclinad vuestro corazón a Jehová, Dios de Israel." (Jos. 24:23) "No endurezcáis, pues, ahora vuestra cerviz, como vuestros padres; someteos a Jehová ..." (2 Crónicas 30:8) "... obedeceremos mucho mejor al Padre ..." (Heb. 12: 9) "Someteos, pues a Dios." (Santiago 4:7) "No sea como yo quiero, sino como tú." (Mt. 26:39) "no busco mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió, la del Padre" (Juan 5:30)

  Si deseas que Dios te guíe y te use, debes estar dispuesto a seguirle incluso antes de saber lo que podría pedir. Dios no contesta las oraciones de las personas de doble ánimo que tienen reservas mentales o son inconstantes con Él (Santiago 1:6-8). Entregarse a Dios asume que tú confias que te ama y hace el bien; asume que tú crees que su voluntad para ti es buena, aceptable y perfecta (Ro. 12:1-2). Dile al Señor que no vas a buscar tu propia voluntad el día de hoy, pero te rendirás por completo a él. La siguiente oración se puede usar:

    Padre, me rindo a Ti hoy día con todo mi corazón y alma. Señor Jesús, Tú eres el Señor de toda mi vida. Querido Espíritu Santo, yo abro todos los lugares secretos de mi corazón a Ti.

    Oh Dios, no voy a contener nada. Ofrezco mi cuerpo como un sacrificio vivo para ser usado en su totalidad por Ti hoy. Todo lo que tengo es tuyo: mi salud, mi tiempo, mi familia, mis éxitos, mis fracasos, mis relaciones, mi ocupación, mis momentos de descanso y de trabajo. Yo suelto estas cosas y las dejo ir. Entrego mis miedos, mis inseguridades, mi sexualidad, mis puntos fuertes y mis debilidades. Especialmente entrego _____________, _______________, y ____________.      Alternativamente, puedes leer o cantar en voz baja, "Yo me Rindo", "Todo Por Jesús," o algún otro himno de entrega.

    Alternativamente, puedes orar la siguiente oración de San Ignacio: "Toma, Señor, y recibe toda mi libertad, mi memoria, mi entendimiento y toda mi voluntad, todo lo que tengo y poseo. Tú me has dado todo a mí. A ti, oh Señor, te lo devuelvo. Todo es Tuyo. Dispone de ello en su totalidad de acuerdo a Tu voluntad. Dame Tu amor y Tu gracia, porque ésto es suficiente para mí."

Surrender yourself to the Lord

"Throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel." (Josh 24:23) "Do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were; submit to the LORD..." (2 Chron. 30:8) "...submit to the Father..." (Heb. 12:9) "Submit yourselves, then to God." (James 4:7) "Not as I will, but as You will." (Matt. 26:39) "I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me." (John 5:30)

 If you desire God to guide you and use you, you must be willing to follow Him even before you know what He might ask. God does not answer the prayers of double-minded people who hold mental reservations or are fickle with Him (James 1:6-8). To surrender to God assumes that you believe that you trust Him to love you and to do right; it assumes that you believe that His will for you is good, acceptable and perfect (Rom. 12:1-2). Tell the Lord that you will not seek your own will in this day, but will surrender entirely to Him. The following prayer can be used:

                                Sample Prayer of Surrender

   Father, I surrender to You today with all my heart and soul. Lord Jesus, You are the Lord of my whole life. Dear Holy Spirit, I open all the secret places of my heart to You. 

   Oh God, I will hold nothing back. I offer up my body as a living sacrifice to be used entirely for You today. All that I have is Yours; my health, my time, my family, my successes, my failures, my relationships, my occupation, my times of relaxation and of work. I release these things and let them go. I surrender my fears, my insecurities, my sexuality, my strengths and my weaknesses. I specially surrender _____________, _______________, and ____________. I surrender my understanding of how these things ought to be, my choices and my will. I want to relate to these things as a steward, receiving my strength and my direction from You. Take me and use me. Amen.

   Alternatively, you could read or sing sofly, "I Surrender All," "All For Jesus," or some other hymn of surrender.

   Alternatively, you could pray the following prayer of St. Ignatius: "Take, Lord, and receive, all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. You have given all to me. to You, O Lord, I return it. All is Yours. Dispose of it wholly according to Your will. Give me Your love and Your grace, for this is sufficient for me."

Ladrones y Salteadores

Jesús declaró: "Yo soy la puerta de las ovejas", una figura retórica que significa que sólo Él es el camino a la salvación. "Todos los que antes de mí vinieron, ladrones son y salteadores" (Juan 10:7-8). Todos los demás líderes religiosos (que no sean los escritores bíblicos que hablaban de él y declararon Su Palabra) son enemigos del hombre, "ladrones y salteadores." Eso incluía a Confucio, Sócrates, Buda, Mahoma, y otros, porque, como un erudito bíblico ha dicho, la expresión es exclusiva y abarca el pasado, presente y futuro. Jesús fue enfático: sólo Él es la verdad: "Yo soy el camino, y la verdad y la vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí" (Juan 14: 6).

    La premisa de la declaración de nuestro Señor es una bien definida: la verdad es exclusiva; no puede incluir una mentira. Pero ninguna idea es más ajena a nuestro temperamento moderno. Queremos un pie en cada campo; queremos comer el pastel y tenerlo también. Queremos a Dios, pero sin ofender a Satanás.

    Pero la verdad es exclusiva; no es tolerante. Si dos más dos son cuatro, no es cierto que sea igual a tres o que es igual a cinco, ni podemos decir que un niño que responde tres o cinco es "casi correcto" La respuesta es correcta o incorrecta. No podemos decir que un hombre es un mentiroso persistente y al mismo tiempo lo llamamos honesto y digno de confianza. No podemos decir que un hombre es un ladrón y, al mismo tiempo insistimos en que respeta los derechos y propiedades de otras personas.

    Pero, por supuesto, esto es lo que estamos tratando de decir. Y estamos tratando de romper la exclusividad de la verdad y la sola idea de que hay un bien y el mal. Recientemente un niño trajo a casa un problema aritmético que comenzó, "Si ocho es mayor que quince ..." Si ocho es mayor que quince, entonces, una mentira puede ser superior a la verdad, porque ninguna norma absoluta permanece. Y estamos destruyendo normas absolutas. Estamos justificando al transgresor de la ley y al criminal, y condenando al honesto y al muy trabajador. Nuestro mundo está en rebelión contra la verdad y la ley de la verdad.

    Hay, sin embargo, una dureza inmutable acerca de la verdad. Jesús dijo: "Yo soy ... la verdad ...; nadie viene al Padre sino por mí" Jesús no expresó una esperanza, sino una realidad dura. No hay otro camino. Los hombres, ya sea, viven por la verdad, o ésta los mata. Si un hombre de negocios trata a $8 como mayor que $15, se irá pronto a la quiebra. Una nación que mima a sus criminales y penaliza a sus ciudadanos piadosos debe o bien cambiar o perecer. Nuestro Señor dijo: "Por sus frutos los conoceréis. ¿Acaso se recogen uvas de los espinos, o higos de los abrojos?" (Mateo 7:16).

    La verdad es exclusiva en todas las áreas, en la religión, la ciencia, la agricultura, y todo lo demás. Si no lo crees, anda a recoger tus uvas de los espinos, y tus higos de los abrojos.

Thieves and Robbers

Jesus declared, "I am the door of the sheep," a figure of speech meaning that He alone is the way to salvation. "All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers" (John 10:7-8). All other religious leaders (other than the Biblical writers who spoke of Him and declared His Word) are enemies of man, "thieves and robbers." That included Confucius, Socrates, Buddha, Mohammed, and others, for, as one Biblical scholar has stated, the expression is exclusive and takes in past, present and future. Jesus was emphatic: He alone is the truth: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).
   The premise of our Lord's statement is a clear-cut one: truth is exclusive; it cannot include a lie. But no idea is more alien to our modern temper. We want a foot in every camp; we want to eat our cake and have it too. We want God, but with no offense to Satan.
   But truth is exclusive; it is no tolerant. If two plus two equals four, it is not true that it equals three or that it equals five, nor can we say that a child who answers three or five is "almost right."The answer is either right or wrong. We cannot say that a man is a persistent liar and at the same time call him honest and trustworthy. We cannot say that a man is a thief and at the same time insist that he respects other people's rights and properties.
   But, of course, this is what we are trying to say. And we are trying to break down the exclusiveness of truth and the very idea that there is a right and wrong. A child recently brought home an arithmetic problem which began, "If eight is greater than fifteen ..." If eight is greater than fifteen, then a lie can be greater than the truth because no absolute standard remains. And we are destroying absolute standards. We are justifying the lawbreaker and the criminal, and condemning the honest and the hard working. Our world is in rebellion against truth and the law of truth.
   There is, however, an unchanging hardness about truth. Jesus said, "I am ...the truth...; No man cometh unto the Father but by me." Jesus expressed not a hope, but a hard reality. There is no other way. Men either live by truth, or it kills them. If a businessman treats $8 as greater than $15, he is soon bankrupt. A nation that coddles its criminals and penalizes its godly citizens must either change or perish. Our Lord said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits. do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" (Matt.7:16).
   Truth is exclusive in every area, in religion, science, farming, and all things else. If you don't believe it, go pick your grapes from thorns, and your figs from thistles.
