La Arrogancia del Mal (English)

   La policía rara vez tiene mucho de qué reírse en estos días, pero uno de ellos lo hizo recientemente. Un carterista grande y corpulento, agarró la cartera de mi hija, Rebeca. Su reacción instintiva fue doblar el puño y lo golpeó en el estómago con todas sus fuerzas. Sorprendido y casi doblado por el dolor inesperado, ¡el ladrón gritó de inmediato por la policía! Uno estuvo inesperadamente cerca, y por lo tanto, su risa, al ver al ladrón con el bolso de mi hija en su hombro, ¡exigiendo la protección del "asalto!"
   No hay duda de que el ladrón estaba indignado a lo que el mundo está llegando: primero, "brutalidad" civil, es decir, la resistencia al robo, y, segundo, "brutalidad" de la policia, ¡un arresto!
   La arrogancia del mal no nos debe sorprender. Es una lección bien aprendida de gran parte de la prensa, de muchos locutores, y de algunos jueces. Mientras que hay muchos jueces buenos y de conciencia en el banco, tenemos demasiados que son muy protectores de los derechos criminales, e indiferentes al acoso de la sala del tribunal de la policía y testigos.
   El resultado es la arrogancia creciente del mal. Por lo tanto, más de unos pocos casos existen donde los homosexuales están exigiendo que las iglesias y escuelas cristianas sean negadas el derecho a emitir un juicio moral sobre ellos, o negarles el empleo. Tales demandas piden por el "derecho" a negar la libertad de juicio y acción a todos los que no están de acuerdo con ellos. Cuando la ley se ocupa de los "derechos humanos" en lugar de la ley de Dios, esta pronto trata de defender todas las prácticas humanas en el nombre de la libertad del hombre o la autonomía de la ley de Dios.
   Tenemos, pues, no sólo la arrogancia del mal, sino el fariseísmo nuevo, el fariseísmo del mal. El razonamiento detrás de esto es simple: no hay Dios, y por lo tanto la ley de Dios es obsoleta y mala. Todas las prácticas humanas, por lo tanto se permiten. La causa de la libertad está mejor representada por aquellos que practican las cosas una vez condenadas. Por lo tanto, los verdaderos héroes y pioneros sociales son los que practican la homosexualidad, la bestialidad y el incesto. Esto entonces los hace la nueva élite moral.
   Un ejemplo de este sentido de un nuevo destino moral es Hefner, de Playboy. Su fariseísmo es notable: él está lleno de un sentido de justicia propia, y un sentimiento de que las trivialidades de su mente y vida son importantes.
...En esto ellos reflejan nuestros tiempos, y estaban un poco avanzados en ello. Los lemas de la nueva conciencia de la década de 1960 han sido "haz tu propia cosa." "Encuéntrate a ti mismo", y "Quiero ser YO." Esta búsqueda por la auto-realización significa un desprecio por otros, por la familia, por los bebés no nacidos, y la ley de Dios. No es de extrañar, incluso la reacción de un carterista a la resistencia, es demandar la ayuda de la policía: su "derecho" a la realización personal ha sido negada.
   Los hombres se acercan a la iglesia con la misma preocupación egoísta y farisaica. Fue con cierta consternación que me di cuenta de que para muchas personas que participan en algunas de las divisiones recientes de la Iglesia y las formaciones de nuevos organismos eclesiásticos, el verdadero problema con la "vieja" iglesia no era una creencia errónea, pero la demasiada creencia. Esta gente no quiere ningún compromiso ni al modernismo o a la ortodoxia, sino que quieren una iglesia que no "haga olas" ni hacer exigencias morales y teológicas de ellos. En lugar de representar un renacimiento de la fe, muchos representan una preferencia por una tibieza estudiada. El modernismo y la ortodoxia son fes fervientes, la tibia no desea ninguna. En cambio, con el fariseísmo nuevo, ellos quieren el derecho a ser indiferentes y tibios en el nombre de Cristo. El Señor deja claro en Apocalipsis 3:17 que son los tibios quienes tienen una justicia propia y confianza farasaica.
..."¡A la ley y al testimonio! Si no dijeren conforme a esto, es porque no hay luz en ellos" (Isaías 8:20).

Arrogance of Evil

   The police rarely have much to laugh about these days, but one of them did recently. A big and heavy-set purse snatcher grabbed my daughter Rebecca's handbag. Her instinctive reaction was to double up her fist and hit him in the stomach  with all her might. Shocked and almost doubled-up by the unexpected pain, the thief immediately screamed for the police! One was unexpectedly near, and hence his laughter, as he saw the thief, with my daughter's handbag on his shoulder, demanding protection from the "assault!"
   No doubt the thief was outraged at what the world is coming to: first, civilian "brutality," i.e., resistance to theft, and, second, police "brutality," an arrest!
   The arrogance of evil should not surprise us. It is a lesson well learned from much of the press, from many newscasters, and from some judges. While there are many fine and conscientious judges on the bench, we have all too many who are very protective of criminal rights, and indifferent to the courtroom harassment of police and witnesses.
   The result is the growing arrogance of evil. Thus, more than a few cases exist where homosexuals are demanding that churches and Christian Schools be denied the right to pass moral judgement on them, or to refuse them employment. Such demands ask for the "right" to deny freedom of judgment and action to all who disagree with them. When the law concerns itself with "human rights" rather than God's law, it soon seeks to defend all human practices in the name of man's freedom or autonomy from God's law.
   We then have not only the arrogance of evil but the new phariseeism, the phariseeism of evil. The reasoning behind it is simple: there is no God, and hence God's law is obsolete and evil. All human practices are therefore to be permitted. The cause of freedom is best represented by those who practice the once condemned things. Therefore, the true heroes and social pioneers are the practitioners of homosexuality, bestiality, and incest. This then makes them the new moral elite.
   An example of this sense of a new moral destiny is Hefner, of Playboy. His phariseeism is notable: he is filled with a sense of self-righteousness, and a feeling that the trivia of his mind and life are important...
   In this they mirrored our times, and were somewhat in advance of it. The watchwords of the new consciousness from the 1960s on have been "do your own thing." "Find yourself," "and "I want to be ME." This quest for the self-realization means a contempt for others, for the family, for unborn babies, and for God's law. Not surprisingly, even a purse-snatcher's reaction to resistance is to demand police help: his "right" to self-fulfillment has been denied.
   Men approach the church with the same  self-centered and pharisaic concern. It was with some dismay that I came to realize that for many people involved in some of the recent church divisions and formations of new church bodies the real problem with the "old" church was not wrong belief but too much belief. these people want no commitment either to modernism or to orthodoxy; they want a church which does not "rock the boat" nor make any moral and theological demands of them. Instead of representing a revival of faith, too many represent a preference for a studied lukewarmness. Modernism and orthodoxy are zealous faiths; the lukewarm want either. Instead, with the new phariseeism, they want the right to be indifferent and lukewarm in the name of Christ. The Lord makes clear in Revelation 3:17 that it is the lukewarm who have a pharisaic self-righteousness and confidence.
