Ella hace sus tareas diarias con alegría y no de mala gana o con amargura, como lo hacen muchas mujeres hoy en día. ¿Por qué es que muchas mujeres modernas no disfrutan ser amas de casa u hogareñas, viendo estas posiciones como degradantes para las mujeres? Es porque no disfrutan hacer las tareas diarias. En su lugar, se quejan de su condición de oprimidas como mujeres en un mundo de los hombres. "Sin embargo, hacer las tareas es parte de lo que tiene que ver con el estar vivo en el mundo de Dios [para las mujeres y los hombres]." - Jay Adams, La Vida Cristiana en el Hogar, p.78. Cada sexo y cada persona tiene su vocación divinamente asignada, la cual incluye una variedad de responsabilidades y tareas.
Lo que realmente cuenta es si tú puedes o no, aprender a deleitarte con tu trabajo, cualquiera que sea tu labor. "La imagen bíblica de la mujer liberada la describe como alguien que ha aprendido a hacer su trabajo con deleite." - Jay Adams, p. 79.
Ella ve su trabajo del hogar como un "Aleluya a Jehová", como parte de su llamamiento dado por Dios para la vida.
Y observa la última parte del versículo. El placer, el amor por su trabajo y deleite en este se atribuyen a las manos. Sus manos están activas después del placer de su corazón, porque ella sabe que está ocupada en el servicio de su Salvador y de su esposo y familia. Al cumplir todas las responsabilidades, los privilegios y las tareas que van con las labores del hogar, la mujer virtuosa está haciendo lo que su corazón le encanta hacer. ¿Sirves a tu esposo y la familia así?
D. (31:14) ES COMO NAVE DE MERCADER; TRAE SU PAN DE LEJOS
Ella busca por todas partes las mejores ofertas y la mejor calidad para su familia. En este sentido, ella es como un barco mercante. Porque ella planifica su tiempo y presupuesta su dinero en el cuidado de su familia, ella hace todo lo posible para comprar para su familia lo mejor que puede pagar. Ella está siempre alerta para las ventas, ofertas y ventas de garaje.
E. (31:15) SE LEVANTA AUN DE NOCHE Y DA COMIDA A SU FAMILIA Y RACION A SUS CRIADAS
Para llevar a cabo todo lo que hace, ella no puede perder el tiempo; así que ella vive de un horario razonable, a menudo levantándose temprano y quedándose hasta tarde. Todo lo que ella hace en la provisión por su familia lleva tiempo, y por lo que a menudo debe levantarse antes del amanecer para servir a su familia y sirvientes el desayuno, entonces estarán listos para ir a su trabajo con alegría tan pronto como amanezca. Ella está dispuesta a levantarse antes del amanecer, porque ella coloca el bienestar de su familia por encima de su propia comodidad, y porque su cuidado por su familia le trae profunda satisfacción y gozo.
Algunas se apresuran a señalar que esta mujer hizo todo lo que hizo porque tenía muchachas, es decir, empleadas domésticas a sueldo, para ayudarla. Algunas mujeres pueden decir: "Si yo tuviera una empleada doméstica que me ayude, podría hacer las otras cosas que ella hace." Permíteme responder a esta actitud común al decir cuatro cosas, dos para los esposos y dos para las esposas. (1). Esposos, ahorra y haz un presupuesto de tu dinero para contratar a una mujer cristiana fiable regularmente o de tiempo completo, para ayudar a tu esposa con la limpieza, si es posible. (2). Esposas, entrena a tus hijos a querer ayudarte con las tareas del hogar. (3). Esposos, ayuda a tu esposa con el trabajo de la casa de vez en cuando. Recoge y limpia después de ti. (4) Esposas, agradece a Dios que tienes unas pocas "muchachas" metafóricas para ayudarte, que tus antepasados nunca pensaron: refrigeradoras, congeladores, lavadoras y secadoras, lavaplatos, trituradores de basura, aspiradoras, compactadores de basura. Pero incluso con todos estos electrodomésticos, todavía sería una gran ayuda, si ustedes esposos podrían proporcionar a sus esposas un poco de ayuda contratada.
Al levantarse antes que los sirvientes para darles de comer, vemos la abnegación en la acción de esta mujer virtuosa. Ella "va delante de sus sirvientes en diligencia, no menos que en dignidad; sin imponer sobre ellos, lo que no se había obligado primero a sí misma, gobernando su casa más eficientemente por el gobierno de sí misma" - Bridges, p. 623.

THE CHARACTER OF THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN - Part II
C. (Prov. 31:13) SHE LOOKS FOR WOOL AND FLAX, AND WORKS WITH HER HANDS IN DELIGHT
She does her daily chores cheerfully and not grudgingly or bitterly, as many women do today. Why is it that many modern women do not enjoy being a housewives or homemakers, seeing these positions as degrading to women? It is because they do not enjoy doing daily chores. Instead they complain about their oppressed condition as women in a man's world. "Yet doing chores is part of what being alive in God's world is all about [for women and for men]."- Jay Adams, Christian Living in the Home, p.78. Each sex and each person has his or her divinely-assigned calling, which includes a variety of responsibilities and chores.
What really counts is whether or not you can learn to delight in your work, whatever your task is. "The Biblical picture of the liberated woman describes her as one who has learned to do her job in delight."- Jay Adams, p. 79.
She sees her housework as a "Hallelujahing of Jehovah," as part of her God-given calling for life.
And notice the last part of the verse. Pleasure, love for her work and delight in it are attributed to hands. Her hands are active after the pleasure of her heart because she knows she is busy in the service of her Savior and her husband and family. In fulfilling all the responsibilities, privileges and chores that go with homemaking, the virtuous woman is doing what her heart loves to do. Do you serve your husband and family like this?
D. ( Prov. 31:14) SHE IS LIKE MERCHANT SHIPS; SHE BRINGS HER FOOD FROM AFAR
She searches far and wide for the best bargains and the finest quality for her family. In this sense she is like a merchant ship. Because she schedules her time and budgets her money in the care of her family, she makes every effort to purchase for her family the best she can afford. She is always on the alert for sales, bargains, and garage sales.
E. (Prov. 31:15) SHE RISES ALSO WHILE IT IS STILL NIGHT, AND GIVES FOOD TO HER HOUSEHOLD, AND PORTIONS TO HER MAIDENS
In order to accomplish all she does, she cannot waste time; so she lives by a reasonable schedule, often arising early and staying up late. All that she does in providing for her household takes time, and so she often must arise before dawn to serve her family and servants breakfast, so they will be ready to go about their work cheerfully as soon as day breaks. She is willing to arise before dawn because she places the well-being of her household above her own comfort, and because her care for her family brings her deep satisfaction and joy.
Some are quick to point out that this woman did all she did because she had maidens, i.e., hired house keepers, to help her. Some wives may say, "If I had a housekeeper to help me, I could do other things she does." Let me respond to this common attitude by saying four things, two for husbands and two for wives. (1). Husbands, save and budget your money so as to hire some reliable Christian woman regularly or full-time, to help your wife with housekeeping, if at all possible. (2). Wives, train your children to love to help you with housework. (3). husbands, help your wife with the house-work on occasion. Pick up and clean after yourself. (4) Wives, thank God that you have a few metaphorical "maidens" to assist you, which your ancestors never thought about: refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers, dishwashers, garbage disposals, vacuum cleaners, trash compactors. But even with all these appliances, it still would be a great help, if you husbands could provide for your wives some hired help.
In arising before the servants to feed them, we see self-denial in action in this virtuous woman. She "goes before her servants in diligence, no less than in dignity; imposing nothing upon them, which she had not first bound upon herself, ruling her household most efficiently by the government of herself."- Bridges, p. 623.
