La mujer fuerte y virtuosa descrita aquí es un modelo para que las mujeres procuren ser y para que los hombres busquen. Proverbios 31:10-31 presenta el cuadro más completo y hermoso de la Biblia de lo que una buena esposa debe ser. Ella es capaz, ambiciosa, una trabajadora dispuesta: ella es amable, sabia, confiable, alegre, provee por su familia y va más allá. Ella sabe lo que vale. Ella utiliza para un buen propósito su inteligencia, su fuerza física, su carácter temeroso de Dios. I. (31:10) LA IDENTIDAD DE LA MUJER VIRTUOSA
La frase, traducida por algunos como una mujer virtuosa, y por otros como una esposa excelente, es literalmente en hebreo, una mujer de muchas partes. Ella es polifacética, con muchos aspectos de su personalidad, teniendo muchos dones, las fuerzas y los talentos. Ella es la mujer verdaderamente liberada, que de ninguna manera es suprimida, ya que ella lleva una vida plena, significativa y productiva y utiliza todos sus dones y fuerzas para su casa.
Algunos también han traducido la frase como una mujer de fuerza, que esta mujer virtuosa sin duda lo es. Ella se fortalece "por la sabiduría y la gracia, y el temor de Dios ... Así que sigue, una mujer virtuosa es una mujer ... que tiene el mando de su propio espíritu y sabe lidiar con otros, una que es piadosa y laboriosa, y una ayuda idónea para un hombre. _ Una mujer virtuosa es una mujer de resolución, que, habiendo abrazado los buenos principios, es firme y constante a ellos, y no se asusta con los vientos y las nubes de cualquier parte de su deber." - Matthew Henry, Comentario de Matthew Henry, vol. 3, p. 801.
II. (31:10) EL VALOR INCALCULABLE Y LA RAREZA DE UNA MUJER VIRTUOSA
Su valor es muy superior a las joyas, no sólo por quién es ella, sino porque su clase es difícil de encontrar. Ella es una rareza en este mundo. A PORTRAIT OF A VIRTUOUS WOMAN
The strong and virtuous woman described here is a model for women to strive after and for men to look for. She is not man-made or self-made; rather she is most emphatically God-made_House and wealth are inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD, Proverbs 19:14.
Proverbs 31:10-31 presents the Bible's most complete and beautiful picture of what a good wife should be. She is capable, ambitious, a willing worker: she is kind, wise, trustworthy, cheerful, providing for her household and reaching beyond. She knows her worth. She uses to good purpose her intelligence, her physical strength, her God-fearing character. She makes life abundant for her husband, their children, and for the poor and needy beyond their family circle. A remarkable woman!- Larry Christenson, The Christian Family, p. 34.
I. (31:10) THE IDENTITY OF THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN
The phrase, translated by some as a virtuous woman, and by others as an excellent wife, is literally in Hebrew, a woman of many parts. She is many faceted, with many sides to her personality, having many gifts, strengths and talents. She is the truly liberated woman, who in no way is suppressed, for she leads a full, meaningful and productive life and uses all her gifts and strengths for her home.
Some also have translated the phrase as a woman of strength, which this virtuous woman most certainly is. She is made strong "by wisdom and grace, and the fear of God...So it follows, a virtuous woman is a woman...who has the command of her own spirit and knows how to manage other people's, one that is pious and industrious, and a help meet for a man. _ A virtuous woman is a woman of resolution, who, having espoused good principles, is firm and steady to them, and will not be frightened with winds and clouds from any part of her duty."- Matthew Henry, Matthew Henry's Commentary, Vol. 3, p. 801.
II. (31:10) THE PRICELESS VALUE AND RARITY OF A VIRTUOUS WOMAN
Her worth is far above jewels, not only because of who she is, but because her kind is hard to find. She is a rarity in this world. "A virtuous woman is not found by every one, she is found by comparatively few._ Such a wife is a more precious possession than all earthly things which are precious, and...he who finds such a one has to speak of his rare fortune."- Keil & Delitzsch, Commentaries on the Old Testament, Proverbs, Vol. II, p.327.
